ABIDJAN HOSTS THE 25th SESSION OF THE ACBF GOVERNING COUNCIL - Posted 28-06-2016

  
  
The 25thordinary Session of the Governing council of the strategy of the Foundation for Capacity building (ACBF) will be held from 30 June to 1 July 2016 in Abidjan, APA learned Tuesday in the Ivorian economic capital.
This meeting will be held in Abidjan at the initiative of the Ivorian government and the African Development Bank (ADB) to meet the capacity building of the African continent over the next five years (2017-2021) highlights the introductory note.
This foundation offers in its 2017-2021 strategic plan, to conduct capacity building efforts to achieve its vision of an Africa able to achieve its own development.
Specifically, the document states, ACBF will focus on accelerating and intensifying the efforts to develop critical technical skills, emphasizing on equity and consolidation, retention and utilization of capacities
To strengthen key development institutions and changing mind set to implement global continental and national strategies are also among the objectives of the ACBF.
“Capacity building is a key element for a successful implementation of this continent’s development program, which will be implemented through a national and continental architecture that includes, country regional and continental institutions” says the note.
The Foundation for the Capacity Building in Africa (ACBF, African Capacity building Foundation) was established in 1991 as an independent, non-profit international organization.
The ACBF strengthens the institutional and human capacity for good governance and economic development in Africa. It also supports capacity building through investments, technical assistances, production and knowledge sharing in Africa.
The main partners of the foundation are African Government, the African Development Bank (AFDB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the world Bank
